En un comienzo indagó en los temas dramáticos (el tono violentamente subjetivo, la acentuación del escorzo de las figuras mediante gruesas líneas angulares), evolucionando hacia una tendencia decorativa que se manifestó en su inclinación a la construcción y al acabado en espesor (texturas afelpadas, pastosas), utilizando colores brillantes que dan a sus creaciones aspectos de vitrales. La estilización de las figuras se corresponde con su tendencia a la síntesis y geometrización de los planos y resalta el carácter decorativo que se manifiesta en sus pinturas. ==Vida y obra==<br />
Pintor. Realizó estudios en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Praga y en la Academia Colin de París. Fue profesor de la Academia de Artes Aplicadas Rotter de Praga. Desde 1949 se estableció en Caracas. El expresionismo de Georges Rouault tuvo gran influencia en su obra. En un comienzo indagó en los temas dramáticos (el tono violentamente subjetivo, la acentuación del escorzo de las figuras mediante gruesas líneas angulares), evolucionando hacia una tendencia decorativa que se manifestó en su inclinación a la construcción y al acabado en espesor (texturas afelpadas, pastosas), utilizando colores brillantes que dan a sus creaciones aspectos de vitrales. La estilización de las figuras se corresponde con su tendencia a la síntesis y geometrización de los planos y resalta el carácter decorativo que se manifiesta en sus pinturas. En 1955 recibió el segundo premio del VII Salón Planchart con Roma… MCMLV y, al año siguiente, el primer premio con Agonía.<br />
