Participó en la &quot;Exposición nacional de Venezuela&quot; (Palacio de la Exposición, Caracas, 1883), con motivo del centenario del nacimiento de Simón Bolívar, con retratos y un álbum con vistas de Maracaibo. La muestra de Lares fue premiada en esa ocasión.
