Hijo de Dimas Parada y Teotiste Ramos. Se desconoce la fecha exacta de su nacimiento. De padres humildes, mudo, analfabeta, muy religioso y autodidacta, a los 10 años comienza a pintar en las paredes de su vivienda durante sus ratos libres, ya que desde pequeño realiza faenas de campo. Trabajó con cartón, piedra, papel y pintura de caucho. A inicios de los ochenta conoce el lienzo, las acuarelas y el óleo. En esta época, paralelamente a sus pinturas, comienza a realizar tallas policromadas de figuras religiosas. Parada capta lo esencial de las formas, obviando el detalle para darle a sus imágenes una gran fuerza expresionista. Para Eduardo Planchart Licea, &quot;la religión, el costumbrismo, sus vivencias se expresan en las obras de Miguel Ángel Parada en proposiciones donde la mujer, la madre, la virgen, la magia de la vida, el nacimiento y la decrepitud, junto a un toque humorístico, se unen en un mismo discurso, que expresan una posición ante el existir, donde el trabajo con las fuerzas de lo viviente, la devoción religiosa, la creación y el temor a la condenación y la alegría de vivir, se conjugan para crear un vivir auténtico y creativo&quot; (1996). En 1990 recibe la Mención Polar en el X Salón de Arte Popular de Fundarte. Entre sus obras se destacan La condenación (guache sobre cartón piedra, 1990) y El Niño de la Cuchilla.
