Realizó estudios en la Escuela Cristóbal Rojas (1961-1963) y participó en las actividades del Círculo Pez Dorado. En 1963 obtiene una beca del gobierno holandés para estudiar en la Universidad y en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Amsterdam, y al año siguiente siguió estudios en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Belgrado con una beca del gobierno yugoslavo. En 1970 regresa a Venezuela y desde entonces se ha dedicado a la actividad docente en el Centro de Investigaciones Plásticas y Audiovisuales Armando Reverón (Barcelona, Edo. Anzoátegui). Se ha especializado en la técnica del grabado sobre metal y aguatinta a color, con resultados semejantes a la aguada. En sus trabajos se percibe una inclinación a la estilización hasta lograr ritmos de formas simples, enlazados y sugerentes, haciendo uso de líneas marcadas y efectos decorativos.
